The ultimate ski-in-ski-out accommodation
If skiing straight out of your apartment is top of your priority list, then an innovative team of local architects in Kazakhstan may just the building for you – it’s called House Slalom.
A new apartment block in Kazakhstan’s capital city, Astana, has been proposed by the architectural group Shokhan Mataibekov, with a ski slope running 300m from the roof of the complex to the ground.
The idea was conceived as a way of optimising the country’s long winters and chilly temperatures. There are currently no ski facilities in the city.
If it’s built, House Slalom will have 21 stories, 421 apartments and an outdoor 1,000ft ski slope. It’s the ultimate in ski-in-ski-out accommodation.
Just one snag though… there are no mountains in sight!
