New deluxe hotel in Gstaad
The Alpina Gstaad opens this month. It is the first completely new luxury hotel to open in the glitzy Swiss resort of Gstaad in 100 years.
At a cost of 300 million Swiss Francs, this five-star deluxe property simply oozes alpine chic. It is set in a prestigious hilltop location of Oberbort (5 minutes from the centre of Gstaad) and flanked by five acres of beautifully manicured gardens.
The hotel comprises 56 spacious bedrooms and suites with classically-carved ceilings and cosy timber-clad walls. There is also a devoted wine-tasting room, a cigar lounge, a private cinema, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa run by the award-winning Six Senses and hopefully lots of snow… just in case you’re here for the skiing!
Niklaus Leuenberger, Managing Director of the hotel commented: “Much passion has gone into the construction of this extraordinary hotel. We are extremely proud to have created a modern, elegant, authentic and comfortable Swiss alpine hotel which promises to be the new luxurious destination for visitors to the Saanenland region for many years to come.”
Doubles start from 850CHF (around €700) per night based on two people sharing. This price includes a buffet breakfast; a £100pp food and drink credit; WiFi; free entrance to the Six Senses Spa; and a shuttle service to and from Gstaad station.
