This weekend marks the start of the Snowboard Spring Break – the annual week of shredding, partying and trying out the latest kit before it hits the shops – in the beautiful Austrian resort of Kaunertal.

This year’s Snowboard Spring Break takes place from 30 April until 6 May high up on the Kaunertal glacier in the Austrian Tirol. This event is now in its fourth year, and it offers the perfect opportunity for riders to enjoy the best of the late-season snow and to drool over the newest of snowboarding gear.

It’s the fourth year that Kaunertal has hosted the event, which has emerged in the place of the old “Snowboard Test” – a closed annual gathering just for the ski industry. Now, anyone can go along and try state-of-the-art boots, bindings, boards… you can test drive as many as you like!

The Snowpark layout looks awesome (see below), with its countless obstacles and kickers to suit all standards from a mini shred zone for beginners to a two-kicker pro line.

Highlights on the snow include the DC Rail Jam (1 May); the Burton Girls shred Session (2 May); a brand-new comp “Witness the Hitness” (3 May) and the Whitelines Wipeout waterslide competition (4 May).

There’s an equally challenging Après scene, which climaxes on 3 May with the epic Monster Energy Party.

It’s undoubtedly the perfect way for snowboarding fanatics from around the world to end the season with a fun week of spring shredding, rail jams and park laps, and some serious partying.
