Lindsey Vonn’s race suit sells on eBay
Lindsey Vonn has sold this rather jazzy Spyder race suit on eBay to raise money to help a girl from Buck Hill, Minnesota, attend a summer ski camp.
The suit, which was signed by Vonn, the greatest alpine skier in US history, attracted 41 bids and sold for $2,500.
Vonn is at the forefront of kids’ ski tuition in the US, with her ski school ‘Ski Girls Rock’ at Vail Mountain.
Ski Girls Rock was designed by the downhill skier for girls aged 5-15, which she launched in 2011, based on her own experience as a young skier and interactions with female role models who inspired her both on and off the slopes to become one of the greatest skiers ever. You can read more about her project here.
Who knows… Perhaps the suit will mark the start of a flurry of ski celebrity items on the aution site, or perhaps some Wimbledon tennis mementoes over the next few weeks? It seems a great way to raise money for charity!
Lindsey Vonn has since added to her Facebook page: “Thanks for bidding on my race suit. Katie is going to ski camp.”
