Ski hosting in La Rosière
This season, La Rosière is offering ski hosting to their guests. Many resorts in North America already offer free guided tours of their slopes, but this is the first resort in France to offer such a service.
La Rosière will be providing free familiarisation tours of the slopes, using qualified ESF instructors. A tour will be offered every Sunday afternoon, and will be called Discover La Rosière.
La Rosière already has an excellent reputation for families. It boasts the prestigious Famille Plus Montagne classification awarded to ultra-family friendly French resorts.
The new ski touring programme is geared to visitors of all ages who have never skied in La Rosière before, who can do parallel turns and ski comfortably on red runs. They will be shown the best places to ski in small groups of 8-10 people. To register, you need to sign up at the ESF ski school prior to midday on the Sunday. It also includes a welcome drink in one of the mountain restaurants.
The instructor will brief everyone on snow conditions, weather conditions for the week and safety on the slopes. It’s also a brilliant chance to glean resort information from the instructor on any topic from the liveliest bar, the most family-friendly restaurant or the top fondue in town to the best slope-side stop for hot-chocolate.
This follows a decision earlier in the year by a French court to ban British holiday companies from offering ski hosting services, which we previously reported here.
Let’s hope Discover La Rosière is a resounding success and that other resorts follow suit.
