Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, has agreed to become Patron of Disability Snowsports UK – the national skiers’ and boarders’ charity, which helps people with disabilities to enjoy snowsports.  She is a keen and active skier.

Pippa Middleton, the sister of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, announced that she was to become the Patron of Disability Snowsports UK (DSUK) at the Parasnowball fund-raising dinner at London’s Hurlingham Club earlier this week.

“When I saw at first hand the work done by DSUK I was humbled by the passion and drive of all those involved. It is a wonderful charity that is truly inspirational,” Pippa said at the dinner.

Last year, the annual Parasnowball dinner raised £40,000 through raffles, a silent auction and donations.  DSUK are hoping to raise even more that this year’s event, hosted by broadcaster John Inverdale  who, like Pippa Middleton, is also a keen skier.

DSUK provides opportunities for people of all ages and disabilities across the UK to get onto the slopes through adaptive lessons, recreational sessions and activity weeks abroad in partnership with Crystal Ski.

Pippa Middleton has been closely involved with the organisation for the past two years, prior to becoming their patron.

Just last month, she participated in the gruelling Birkenbeinerrenet cross-country ski race in Norway for DSUK (as we reported in an earlier story HERE), finishing with a very respectable time of 5 hours and 58 minutes.
