Half-term in Montgenevre

Half-term in Montgenevre

Eleven-year-old Bethany, daughter of our medical advisor Sarah Brook, is spending half-term skiing in Montgenevre with her mother.  Here’s what she thinks of the resort:

Bonjour de Montgenevre!  The snow is glistening on the trees and the mountain tops are hidden in the clouds.

I have enjoyed skiing high up in the bowl where the pistes and off piste merge into one.  There is a border cross track which although not the fastest  is great fun.  Each morning I have started on the small jump park in the village with rails and grinds!

The two man chair into Italy is one of the slowest longest and coldest I have ever been on followed by a wind blasted icy track round the edge of the mountain, but worth it for the amazing hot chocolates in Claviere.

Our lift pass also covered a day’s skiing in the Milky Way – we did this in a white out so we only saw parts of the Olympic village of Sestriere.  We even had to go down on a chairlift carrying our skis as part of the route… freaky!

One evening we went on the luge, which was very scary at first as you reach speeds of up to 40k/hr but it was so exciting (Mum screamed her way down!)

Overall a great place to ski!!
