With all the recent talk of Prince William, Kate Middleton and the royal baby, you can even now go and stay in the royal couple’s honeymoon ski lodge.

Last summer, following the Royal Wedding, the royal couple escaped the paparazzi to stay for a few days in Skoki Lodge, just seven miles from the resort of Lake Louise in Canada.

This luxury lodge is owned by Charlie and Louise Locke, but it is being offered byUK tour operator Inghams this ski season as part of a two-day add-on excursion from Lake Louise, at an eminently-affordable cost of £149 per person.  The only snag is that eight people must sign up to make the booking feasible – a perfect treat for two families traveling together perhaps?

William and Kate are simply the latest in a long line of royals to stay in this historic venue.  Skoki lodge was built in 1931 just as the first commercial ski operations began in North America.  It was the first accommodation to be built specifically for ski-tourists in Canada.  Its distinguished guest list over the years includes the Queen, Prince Philip, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, Prince Rainer of Monaco, Queen Margrethe of Denmark, and King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan.     

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are both keen skiers.  Their first public holiday together was to the Swiss resort of Klosters in 2005, and in April of this year we reported on their ski holiday in Meribel with sister Pippa and the rest of the Middleton family, as we reported here.  The Middleton coat of arms, designed shortly before the Royal Wedding, even contains a reference to winter sports, which you can see here.

Inghams is also offering a variety of other accommodation in Lake Louise this season, including the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise (from £1,252pp) and the Lake Louise Inn (from £846pp).
