Snow much fun in London
With all eyes on Olympic sports in London at the moment, The Snow Centre – just a snowball’s throw away at Hemel Hempstead – is encouraging people not to forget winter sports amidst the excitement of all the other events and the forthcoming Paralympic Games.
Hemel Hempstead boasts the closest real snow to the centre of London and the Olympic Park. It has a 160-metre main slope, serviced by two drag lifts, and the UK’s largest indoor nursery slope.
What’s more, right now The Snow Centre is offering some substantial discounts:
For first-timers, there’s a 50% discount on adult and junior beginners skiing or snowboarding lessons from now until 30 September; or how about a ‘Family Lesson and Sledge Package’ for two adults and up to four children for just £99?
For families that are already confident on the slopes, until 30 September a ‘Family Slope Pass Package’ will give 2 hours on the 160m main slope for just £69 for a family of up to six. And afterwards you can enjoy a drink, a snack or a meal in the alpine-style Edge Cafebar.
There’s even a special pass providing unlimited use of the slope for the rest of August for just £40.
A spokesperson for The Snow Centre said: “With this summer’s focus on sport we want to remind people about having fun enjoying snowsports – it’s the whole Alpine experience… the exhilaration of skiing, snowboarding or sledging on real snow and relaxing over a hot chocolate or a coffee afterwards.”
