Ski lessons for a fiver

Teresa Fisher

Learn to ski for just a fiver this weekend!

It’s nearly time to dust off your skis for the new winter season and to start getting fit for skiing.

If you’re concerned about feeling rusty, then head to The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, near London, as they officially launch the 2013-14 winter season this weekend (14-15 September).

From 10am-4pm on both days there will be Rusty Refresher lessons, Freestyle Coaching, Simply Sledging for a Fiver, Half Price Beginner Lessons, not to mention all the thrills of Arctic Alley.

And to mark the start of the winter, there will also be the chance to rub shoulders with British Ski Cross racer Ed Drake as part of the first ever Slide2Sochi roadshow.

Come and ski with a pro! British Olympian Ed Drake will be at The Ski Centre this weekend.

The new Rusty Refresher Lessons will get those ski legs back in no time!  Throughout the winter season, The Snow Centre will offer one hour Rusty Refreshers (45 minutes guided practice with a highly qualified ski instructor, plus 15 minutes detailed feedback).

For the Winter Launch Weekend (14-15 September) only, Rusty Refresher sessions are available for adults for just £5 for 30 minutes (usually £39 for one hour over weekends throughout the winter season. Book a Lesson or Lift Pass after a Rusty Refresher Session during the Winter Launch Weekend and The Snow Centre will also discount either by £5.

Also this weekend, the Snow Centre is offering Half Price Beginner Ski & Snowboard Lessons.  So don’t delay – book for all the family now.  It’s a great way to try out a new sport without breaking the bank.  Adults Beginner 90 Minute Lessons cost just £24.50; Junior Beginner Hour Lessons are £14.50.

This weekend is also the perfect chance to sample Freestyle tricks for just a fiver in the centre’s specially tailored “Ready For Freestyle Coaching Sessions“.  Throughout the winter season, why not bring your kids down to learn and practise their freestyle ski/board moves at one of the Snow Centre’s Thursday and Friday Coaching Clinics or at a Park Session (minimum Level 6 Snowsports standard applies).

Finally, if you do nothing else this weekend, have a go at sledging.  There’s Simply Sledging down the trainer slope for just £5 a session or, for the brave at heart, there’s The Snow Centre’s brand new Arctic Alley run.  Put your nerves to the test as you career down the slope with your kids on a brand new Ringo… through the tunnel and over bumps, twists and turns for the full length of the ski slope.

Arctic Alley’s just £10 for a one-hour session and, believe us, it’s HUGE fun for all the family.

Hold on tight though!
